These photos are about capturing a moment or fixing a composition in time. The only way to define them would be as part of a visual diary that is constantly expanding. These are photos I've felt compelled to take either because of light, colour or emotion.

I knew I had to get out of the city. Montreal had become too small in too short an amount of time. Every metro station I got off at, I thought I saw a familiar face; every street corner I rounded I was scared I’d bump into somebody I knew. So I left. I left because I thought either the city would change while I was gone, or I would change while away from the city. I was wrong on both counts, and everything was the same when I returned. So all I got in the end were these photos, a

I’m about half way through a solo cycling trip from Guilin to Kunming in Mainland China. Guangxi, the province I’m in now, is filled with beautiful karst rock formations and friendly people. Here are some photographs of locals and scenes that have caught my eye along the way.

Photographer Levi Bettweiser, founder of the Rescued Film Project, recently secured 31 undeveloped rolls of film – all shot by one solder – during World War II. In the images, the soldier records his time out of combat, waiting on busses, trains, ships, and trekking across snowy fields and desert sand.
